One of the best features of JSMusicDB is that you can hook it up to your NAS; out of the box JSMusicDB supports the Synology Nas family.
For Synology Nasses the installation is as simple as adding https://www.arielext.org/spkrepo/spkrepo/packages to your 3rd party package list in the package manager.
- Add http://packages.mysynology.nl/spkrepo/packages to your package list
- Click to install JSMusicDB
- Click the JSMusicDB icon in the startmenu
For other systems, based on node.js you can install scanner.py that will scan your collection. The output JSON will be placed in the folder of your choice. We highly recommend that you output the JSON to the folder in which you have installed JSMusicDB. You can get the script from this link: scanner.py on github or download the archive scanner.py.zip
If you’d like to use JSMusicDB with a NAS make sure your NAS supports php.
